About Us

Philosophy

In these days of 24 hour communication it is vital to have a presence on the world wide web. However, it should not be done simply for the sake of “being online”. A website is a tool which allows rapid communication to happen between people. This could be between you and potential clients, between members of your organisation, or any other combination you can think of.

When creating a website, there’s no point in uploading a couple of pages fresh out of a desktop-publishing package. Yes, they may look colourful and shiny, but if left alone the dust quickly starts to gather: the information quickly becomes out of date, links break and all manner of unexpected things happen. Nothing is so painful to look at as a website that still has last year’s news sitting proudly at the top of the home page: that sends out a terrible message to your potential clients. Because we don’t want this to happen to you, we also teach you how to keep your website active and engaging.

While you’re doing this, we’re not just sitting back knitting and reading Philosophy (well, we might do the latter). We keep the back-end of your site clean and tidy, updating the software to keep you safe from potential hackers, keeping regular backups of your site, checking the hosting is working just as it should and all manner of other tasks. Since we’re doing this, you won’t have to worry about it, instead you may concentrate on putting your new found tool to its intended use: informing, engaging and entertaining your visitors.

Every company describes itself as client-focused – it would be odd if we didn’t. However, we think our strong emphasis on this area is particularly important. Over the years, we have regularly acquired clients through personal recommendation after they became disillusioned by the service of their previous website provider, particularly in the field of ensuring an up-to-date website and getting the many aspects of running a website to work together.

Open Source

We like to use Open Source software to run your websites. Why? Open Source software means we are free to customise the Content Management System (CMS) and make it work for you. Many web companies like to have their own proprietary CMSes, which of course they can customise too, but we’d rather spend the time working with clients on getting the site perfect that reinventing the wheel by writing a new CMS when there are lots of great ones out there with literally thousands of people writing and checking the code.

There are many systems out there, and we pick the one we think is best suited to your site.
