Take a look at a selection of our clients websites and the story behind each:
Media Music (Our Most Recent Site)
Media Music had previously had a site that they’d got their friend to design for them. However, it did not have a consistent site design, updating the site was difficult and it was beginning to look rather out of date. Additionally, the media features, a key focus, were not embedded in the site but rather required visitors to download them first. We created a brand new look for the site, focussing on ease of use, embedded media and easy contact for visitors to the site. For this site we also worked with previous clients the image co. on the photographs for the website.
The Newt
The Newt is the undergraduate newspaper at New College, Oxford. It used to have a website, but no-one knew how to update it. We were asked by the Newt committee to design and implement a new site with a magazine look with full image support, the ability to import all the old archives and easy to update so that each new issue could be simultaneously launched on paper and online. As usual, web2me worked quickly and closely with our clients to deliver a high quality solution with all the features they wanted, and more, as quickly as possible.
The Image Co.
The Image Co. are a recently established firm of Professional Photographers. They contacted us, initially to set up a site where people could view information on their services, prices, and samples of their work. As we were developing the site, they also requested that they were able to post clients photos in a private area of the site for viewing before purchase. Working closely with them we integrated this feature into the agreed site design and on completion produced a bespoke site use manual so that they were able to add photos and update any area of the site.
The Education Partnership
The Education Partnership had recently changed their name and wanted a fresh new look. They felt their old website, a single page affair, portrayed an image of a company growing old. We developed their new site and look with the old site still in place and handled a seamless transfer between the old and the new which occurred over one night so as to ensure minimum downtime for the site, which could potentially lose custom. Since discovering the power of a well built site, The Education Partnership has worked with us, growing the site, to include more information for potential clients.
Salisbury Stingrays ASC
Salisbury Stingrays, a local swimming club, were disappointed with their previous website. Sure, it looked pretty good, but it didn’t do much, and they couldn’t even update it without contacting their website provider and waiting for him to find a slot in his busy schedule to update their website. So, they contacted us and we set them up with a new website, which looked just as good, but this time they were in control. Suddenly, their website became a tool to to get news out to members and the number of visitors increased massively. With the later addition of a forum members were able to communicate with each other further easing club organisation.
Salisbury Canoe Club
The name says it all about the organisation really. However, the club wanted to update their website, to give it a clean new look, and to be able to use it as a point of communication for their members. We set them up with a main site where they could post news, photos etc. A forum was also created for the members to be able to get in touch, and to allow potential members to find out more in a friendly environment. Recently, we have also set up a new email system for the club to further increase the ease with which the committee may communicate.
Salisbury Oxfam
As part of a strategy to reach out to new sections of the community, Salisbury Oxfam asked us to create a website where they could post information about events, news about Oxfam campaigns nationally, and anything else they wanted to share! It was also important for them to have interactive features such as a map, for people to find their shop, and an automatically updating list of items they currently had listed on eBay as part of their online strategy. In addition, we helped to simplify their email systems by creating separate addresses for each department within the shop which could be accessed by staff and volunteers from anywhere.
Salisbury Fairtrade
The Salisbury Fairtrade group had not previously had an online presence but the decision was taken to create a website and use it for keeping interested parties informed of Fairtrade events in the local area and as an online version of their local Fairtrade Directory. We created the website and handed it over to them to manage the content after full training in the use of the management software. It was one of the first sites we created but we were asked to make it deliberately graphics-light as many of the visitors were expected to be using dial-up internet connections.
